Travis Financial Institution Receives Air Force Recognition
The Department of the Air Force recognized Travis Air Force Base Armed Forces Bank as “Distinguished Bank of the Year”.
The Armed Forces Bank was honored for its innovation in providing a wide range of banking services, settlement assistance and financial education to service members and their families. An estimated 128,000 active duty and retired military, government employees and their families are served by the bank.
For 11 of the past 12 years, the financial institution has received the recognition, which honors local financial companies that go above and beyond to serve the community.
The Army, Air Force and Navy each submitted 13 nominees to the AFB for the award given by Command Leadership at military sites across the country for the year 2021.
Out of 144 financial institutions, AFB was the only bank to earn the “Designation of Excellence in Savings” from Military Saves. For nine of the past ten years, recognition has been given to organizations that go above and beyond to encourage good savings habits and take steps to increase the financial security of their community.
The bank received official recognition at the Association of Military Banks of America’s annual workshop in August in Washington, DC.
The Military Saves program, run by the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America, aims to help service members and their families make financial decisions, pay off debts and build wealth.
