Ghana International Bank appoints new Africa hedging manager

Ghana International Bank plc announced the appointment of Baafuor Ohene Abankwa as Head of Client Coverage for its activities in Africa.

He will be responsible for managing the African cover team and will be responsible for leading growth in new markets in East and Central Africa while ensuring the continued delivery of value to the existing client portfolio in Africa. Where is.

Prior to this appointment, he was responsible for client coverage for West Africa and led the growth of the Bank’s activities in the sub-region, in particular with financial institutions.

He had previously worked with Republic Bank (Ghana) Limited, Ecobank Ghana Limited and The Trust Bank Limited.

His banking career started at Standard Chartered Bank where he was recruited as a management trainee. He also worked with Ernst and Young, Ghana.

He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana.

He is an alumnus of the University of Ghana where he obtained an MBA in Finance as well as a BSc. in biochemistry and nutrition.

Ghana International Bank plc is a fully Ghanaian bank based in London and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.

The Bank mainly focuses on Correspondence Banking and Corporate Banking, providing treasury, international trade finance, lending and bank transaction services.

Its operations aim to support the economies of Ghana in particular and the African continent in general.
