Bryan City Manager’s June Capital Project Update to City Council – WTAW


Bryan City Manager Kean Register’s June capital project update to city council included delays due to precipitation in May and the first week of June.

Additional information provided by City Manager Kean Register:


• Irrigation, trees, plantings, lighting and signage have been installed at the entrance to Bryan Midtown Park, and further factory installations are planned before the project is completed this summer.

• Construction of the Big Shots Parkway is expected to be completed by November, with final construction of the facility to follow in mid-November.

• 1 of 2 utility boreholes under Texas Avenue were installed as part of the Coulter Drive reconstruction project. The project is expected to end this fall.

• Although rain has hampered progress of the Woodville Road construction project, completion is expected by the end of this month.

• The Palasota Street Phase 1 culvert over the Cottonwood branch of Anson Jones School is complete, but paving has not yet started. Project completion is expected by April 2022.

• The Texas Avenue project design team continues to meet with individual homeowners along the corridor to introduce them to the overall design and share with them how medians, shared use paths and sidewalks can affect their properties.


• Until Wednesday, June 30, see history come to life with the Bryan Story Exhibit at the Cushing Memorial Library & Archives on the Texas A&M University campus. • The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is scheduled for Thursday, June 17 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Bryan Aquatic Center, all ages welcome.
